Tony Whitehouse - Egg Tempera Artist

Project Description: Tony is an artist from the Vale of Evesham in the Cotswolds, specialising in Egg Tempera paintings. He wanted a website to showcase his paintings as well as reach a wider audience to sell prints. The design of the site was critical to show the artwork to best effect.
The content needed to be simple and easy to change so that new paintings could be added without any technical knowledge. We also wanted to help drive new traffic to the site so it needed to be as search engine friendly as possible. For these two reasons we chose Plone, a very powerful CMS, and wrote some neat scripts so Tony just needs to upload an image file without any editing or resizing.
Finally, Tony wanted to sell some prints. After looking at the amount of sales he anticipated, we recommended Paypal as the best e-commerce option. We integrated it into the site and implemented some encryption to protect his privacy when selling.
